According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona want to sign former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Yuri Berchiche – and he could cost a staggering amount of money.
Tottenham fans may not remember Berchiche, and few could blame them. He failed to make a single appearance for Tottenham following a 2007 move from Athletic Bilbao.
Tottenham released him on a free transfer in 2010, and he returned to Spain with Real Union as he began a remarkable climb to the top.
Real Sociedad landed him in 2012, and after becoming a star with the La Liga side, he joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
After 32 appearances in France, Berchiche returned to Spain again to re-join Bilbao, and his performances are attracting huge interest.
Barcelona want Berchiche to become their new left back competition for Jordi Alba, with Junior Firpo likely to move on this summer.

However, the release clause in Berchiche’s contract stands at €100million (£91million), a fee that Barcelona are unlikely to pay up.
From being released by Tottenham to being eyed by Barcelona in a possible £91million move, Berchiche has bounced back in style over the last 10 years – and who knows what could have happened if Spurs had kept him.
