According to the Daily Record, Motherwell midfielder Alejandro Rodriguez Gorrin is wanted by Championship trio Blackburn Rovers, Millwall and Wigan Athletic.

Rodriguez Gorrin, 25, joined Motherwell on a free transfer last summer after a stint in Romania with Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe, and has really established himself in Scottish football.

The Spaniard has flourished in 2019 having broken into Stephen Robinson’s side, earning rave reviews for his performances in front of the Motherwell back four.

Unfortunately for Motherwell, Rodriguez Gorrin is out of contract this summer and can now sign a pre-contract agreement elsewhere, with three Championship clubs now lining up moves.

Blackburn, Millwall and Wigan are all keen on Rodriguez Gorrin according to the Daily Record, and are set to scout him against Aberdeen this week, ahead of potentially offering him a deal.

After a nomadic career to date, which has seen him move to Australia, Portugal and Romania, Rodriguez Gorrin could now earn a big move to Championship this summer.

His name may well be familiar to Sunderland fans, as the Black Cats signed him from Tenerife in 2009, and gave him five years at the Stadium of Light before ditching him in 2014.

For years, Sunderland fans won’t have thought twice about Rodriguez Gorrin, but they may bizarrely end up seeing him line up against them next season – or even in the division above them.
