Ivan Bravo is reportedly in talks over becoming Leeds United’s new sporting director.
According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are lining up a move to make former Real Madrid head of strategy Ivan Bravo their new sporting director.
The Whites are impressing on the pitch right now, as Garry Monk’s men beat Aston Villa 2-0 on Saturday afternoon to make it five wins in the last six Championship games, taking them up to fourth place in the table.
Massimo Cellino
With aspirations of a return to the Premier League, Leeds are moving in the right direction under Monk’s management – and it seems that things could be changing off the field as well.
The Daily Mail report that whilst owner Massimo Cellino is in talks to sell a 50% stake in the club to fellow Italian Andrea Radrizzani, there could be a new sporting director arriving at Elland Road too.
The report claims that Leeds are in talks with Ivan Bravo about becoming the new sporting director at the club, a role that hasn’t been filled since Nicola Salerno left the club in June 2015.
General view inside Elland Road
Bravo has quite the CV, as he previously worked as head of strategy at Real Madrid, overseeing their objectives on and off the pitch, and working for such a huge club would make him quite the coup for Leeds.
Bravo currently works as the Director General of the Aspire Academy in Qatar, a role he has held since 2011 having been brought in to help Qatar develop young players ahead of the World Cup in 2022.

Now though, Bravo is in talks over a move to Leeds, where he would become the new sporting director and act as something of a link between ownership – whether that’s Cellino or Radrizzani – and manager Monk.
The latest rumours about Bravo’s discussions mean that Francesco Marrocu may not be in line for the sporting director role after all, months after the Daily Mail reported that the Italian was set to take the job having spent time around Leeds’ Thorp Arch training ground earlier this season.
