Rangers are reportedly set to hand Jimmy Nicholl a return to Ibrox.

According to The Scottish Sun, coach Jimmy Nicholl has cut ties with Falkirk and accepted a deal to return to Rangers as Graeme Murty’s assistant.
The Gers decided to hand caretaker Murty the job until the end of the season last month, having previously failed to find a replacement for Pedro Caixinha.
Given that Caixinha’s backroom staff left with him, Murty has been looking for appointments around him, and he appears to be closing in on one.

The Scottish Sun report that Jimmy Nicholl has now severed ties with Scottish Championship side Falkirk, and has accepted a role as Rangers’ assistant boss.
It’s claimed that Rangers made their move for Nicholl over the weekend, but he stayed for Falkirk’s game against Dunfermline on Tuesday night, before preparing for his move to Ibrox.
Nicholl, 61, had two spells with Rangers as a player, making 75 appearances for the club during this stints in Glasgow, and has had a lengthy career as a coach.

Nicholl has spent most of his time coaching in Scotland, and still holds a role alongside Michael O’Neill on the coaching staff with the Northern Ireland national team.
Now though, Nicholl will be making his return to Ibrox, offering a valuable experienced head to work alongside a rookie manager in Murty.
