Paul Heckingbottom is reportedly closing in on his first managerial job since his Leeds United spell ended.

The Scottish Premiership side are looking for their next manager after parting company with Neil Lennon last month. And the Daily Record reports Heckingbottom is one name that they are seriously considering having been impressed with his credentials.
The Record adds that Heckingbottom is interested in the Easter Road post, so it would appear that there could be every chance that the 41-year-old will now get the opportunity to prove a point after leaving Elland Road at the end of last season.
Heckingbottom’s spell with the Whites was a disappointment. He was always facing an incredibly difficult task, and never seemed to have the unanimous backing of the Leeds fans following his arrival from Barnsley.

But even those who felt that he may have been disposed of too quickly by Andrea Radrizzani – and that group was certainly in the minority by the time of his departure – were quick to forget any complaints over his exit when the club announced Marcelo Bielsa as his successor.
The Leeds job seemed to come around at the wrong time in Heckingbottom’s career. But he has the potential to get back on track, and perhaps the opportunity that he has been waiting for since leaving Elland Road is now just around the corner.
