According to talkSPORT, Lee Carsley will become the new Engalnd Under-21 boss just days after a rumour linked him with rejoining Everton.
Aidy Boothroyd lost his job in April having crashed out of the European Championships with a ridiculously talented squad.
The FA have taken almost two months to figure out their top candidate, and it’s believed to be Carsley.
Carsley’s coaching history
The 47-year-old is best remembered for his time at Everton, but he has been making strides as a coach.
After starting out as a caretaker manager with Coventry, Carsley moved on to coaching Brentford’s development squad and then Manchester City’s Under-18’s.
Carsley returned to hometown club Birmingham City to coach their Under-23’s, and most recently managed England’s Under-20’s, with his work developing young players standing him in good stead for the Under-21 job.

Everton and Ferguson miss out on Carsley
Everton are currently hunting for a new manager, and maybe Carsley can return to Goodison Park as their boss one day.
Over the weekend, The Sun reported that Duncan Ferguson not only wants to become the new Everton manager, but has picked out Carsley as his ideal assistant.
That plan already looks to have hit the buffers, with Carsley off to manage England’s Under-21’s – and that may just dent Ferguson’s hopes of landing the job, with his plan already faltering.
