According to the Daily Record, ex-Celtic midfielder Liam Burt attended Aberdeen’s 4-2 win over Hamilton Academical last night ahead of a possible move.
It’s claimed that Burt was invited to Pittodrie by Aberdeen as Derek McInnes considers a move to sign the 21-year-old on a free transfer.
Barnsley had a close look at Burt but decided against a deal despite impressing in friendlies, and Sunderland have also taken him on trial recently.
Burt is still hunting for a new club, and Aberdeen are now emerging as a potential destination for the midfielder as he watched the Dons claim a thumping win.
The Scot was originally in the Rangers ranks, but was released in 2019 before making a controversial move across Glasgow to sign for Celtic on a two-year deal.

A boyhood Celtic fan, Burt has been vocal with anti-Rangers tweets over the last year, but he was released by Celtic earlier in 2020 having failed to force himself into Neil Lennon’s plans.
Burt could end up joining Celtic’s Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen now, with McInnes potentially sensing a bargain after Barnsley turned him down.
