According to The Daily Record, Hibernian are closing in on the signing of former Celtic midfielder Jackson Irvine.
It’s claimed that Irvine is set to undergo a medical with Hibs ahead of completing his return to Scottish football.
The 27-year-old is a free agent having left Hull City at the end of last season, and finally looks to have finally found himself a new club.
Jack Ross is hoping to get the deal done soon, bolstering Hibernian’s midfield options without breaking the bank on a transfer fee.
Irvine first moved to Scotland in 2010 having joined Celtic from Melbourne Victory, and was tipped for a bright future with the Bhoys.
However, he made just one appearance for Celtic, and ended up leaving for Ross County in 2015, where his fine form earned him a move to Burton Albion.

11 goals in 49 games there sparked Hull’s interest, though he wasn’t able to replicate that goalscoring form with the Tigers.
Celtic take on Hibs in the Scottish Premiership tonight, meaning the game will come too early for Irvine to face his former club, but he will be looking to hit the ground running upon his return to Scottish football.
