According to La Provence, Matteo Guendouzi could be heading to Marseille this summer – and Stephy Mavididi is also wanted.

It’s suggested that Guendouzi is a top target for Marseille given that he appears to have no future at Arsenal.

Remember Mavididi though? He was another prospect once touted for a bright future with Arsenal.

Mavididi came up through the Arsenal ranks after joining from Southend United at the age of just 13, but never appeared for the Gunners.

After loans at Charlton Athletic and Preston, Mavidid moved on to Juventus in 2018, then Dijon on loan a year later, failing to really find a settled home.

This season, the 22-year-old has hit nine goals in 34 games as a permanent Montpellier player, and could now make a big move to Marseille.

Few could have predicted that a couple of years ago, and he could join forces with Guendouzi to bring some Arsenal flavour to Jorge Sampaoli’s side.

Mavididi admitted last year that it would be a ‘dream’ to re-join Arsenal one day, and a move to Marseille could take him one step closer to that idea.

If he makes the move and excels, Mavididi would be in line for another big move, and Arsenal’s interest in re-signing Glen Kamara suggests they’re open to bringing back former prospects.

That could be Mavididi in the future, and it’s great to see him thriving having left Arsenal in search of stardom elsewhere.
