Henderson is the younger brother of former Celtic midfielder, Liam Henderson.

The young Celtic midfielder, Ewan Henderson, is understood to be assessing his options, according to the Daily Record (December 10 liveblog, 08:45).

Henderson made his one and only Celtic appearance against Kilmarnock at the end of last season, and has been a regular in the Bhoys Under-19s’ Uefa Youth League campaign this term.

But the Daily Record reports that he has yet to sign an extension to the contract that expires next summer, and is set for a stand off with the club.

Henderson has already seen his older brother and fellow midfielder, Liam, thrive since severing his ties with Celtic.

The 22-year-old quit Celtic Park in January this year to join Bari in Italy’s Serie B, and has earned a move to promotion-chasing Hallas Verona.

First-team regulars Dedryck Boyata, Scott Brown and Mikael Lusting are among the other Bhoys players out of contract in 2019.

Would Celtic rue the loss of another Henderson?
