Everton have reportedly failed with a move for Cardiff City’s Kenneth Zohore.
As reported by BBC Sport, Cardiff City have turned down an approach from Everton for star striker Kenneth Zohore, as they attempt to hang on to him with the transfer deadline looming.
The Bluebirds have enjoyed a strong start to the Championship season, winning all five of their games to sit top of the table, with ten goals scored and just two conceded in this remarkable run.
A number of players have excelled under Neil Warnock, but striker Kenneth Zohore has been a major part in Cardiff’s superb start to the season, turning in impressive displays whilst scoring once in the five games.
The Danish hitman has attracted major interest based on his performances, but Cardiff have stood firm – and they are now fending off interest from Premier League side Everton.
BBC Sport report that Everton made an enquiry to sign Zohore as they search for a new striker, but their move has been blocked by Cardiff, who have snubbed their approach.
The Toffees are in the market for a new striker having sold Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United earlier this summer, and with just days of the transfer window left to go, they are even looking to the Championship for a possible solution.
Zohore, 23, fits the powerful target man mould that Ronald Koeman is looking for, and he certainly impressed in the Championship last season with 12 goals in 29 appearances.
Formerly of Copenhagen and Fiorentina, Zohore is enjoying the best spell of his career so far with Cardiff, and it’s little surprise that he is attracting major interest as a result.
However, with Cardiff standing firm and manager Warnock wanting around £30million for his signature, Everton may have to turn their attention to another striker before Thursday’s deadline.
