Everton’s Phil Jagielka is reportedly set for talks over his future amid interest from Sunderland and West Ham United.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton defender Phil Jagielka is set to hold talks over his future, with Sunderland and West Ham United both believed to be keen.
Jagielka, now 34, joined Everton from Sheffield United back in the summer of 2007 having impressed with the Blades in the Premier League, and he’s been a regular for the Toffees for nearly ten years now.

The centre back has racked up almost 350 appearances for Everton, and his displays for Everton have handed him the opportunity to earn 40 caps for England on the international stage.
Jagielka has been in and out of the side this season though, playing 15 of Everton’s 21 Premier League games, but manager Ronald Koeman has recently chosen a back three of Mason Holgate, Ashley Williams and Ramiro Funes Mori.

That leaves Jagielka on the fringes, and with The Sun reporting that Everton are again keen on Sunderland defender Lamine Kone, Jagielka’s future could be in doubt.
The Daily Mail report that Jagielka is set to hold talks about his future at Goodison Park, having received interest from Sunderland and West Ham United during this month’s transfer window.
Sunderland – managed by Jagielka’s former Everton boss David Moyes – are believed to be keen on the defender, with the Black Cats fighting against relegation to the Championship.
Meanwhile, West Ham have had defensive woes this term, and manager Slaven Bilic may feel that a veteran presence like Jagielka can help organise his defence – but whether Everton are ready to let their long-serving defender leave remains to be seen.
