Everton are reportedly willing to loan James McCarthy out, and several Premier League sides are keen on the midfielder.

Everton are willing to loan James McCarthy out during the January transfer window as he looks to prove his fitness, and the Sunday People (23/12; page 50) reports that three Premier League sides are keen on the midfielder.

McCarthy has not played since breaking his leg in a game against West Brom at Goodison Park back in January. However, he is working his way back to fitness and could be on the move next month.

The Sunday People (23/12; page 50) reports that Fulham, Brighton and Burnley are all keen on signing the 28-year-old for the second-half of the season, and Everton are ready to give him the green light to make a temporary exit.

A move to another top flight team would make sense for all parties. Marco Silva has a lot of quality available to him in the middle of the park right now, so McCarthy’s chances could be limited.

If he can recapture the form that he showed before his injury, he could be an excellent addition to any of the three teams that are showing an interest ahead of next month’s window.

And perhaps some time away could be exactly what he needs to prove a point to Silva ahead of his potential return to Merseyside in the summer.
