According to Read Everton Everton winger David Henen is in talks with both Southampton and West Bromwich Albion ahead of the summer transfer window.

Henen, 22, was on the books with Anderlecht, Monaco and Olympiacos before signing for Everton in 2015, signing a permanent deal after an initial loan spell.

The Belgian wide man was often highly thought of in the Goodison Park ranks, serving as a regular for the Under-23’s under David Unsworth without ever making a first-team appearance for the Toffees.

Henen did go out on loan to Fleetwood Town in 2015, scoring once in 12 games, but with no first-team opportunities at Everton, he now looks set to leave.

Henen’s Everton contract expires this summer, and whilst the Toffees will be due compensation for his signature, it’s claimed that he is in talks with Premier League clubs Southampton and West Brom.

West Brom look to be heading to the Championship, where they could view Henen as one for the future, whilst Southampton are battling against the drop and may also see untapped potential in the winger.

Everton seemingly have no plans to keep Henen, but if the reports are to be believed, he could be staying in English football for next season and beyond.
