According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are expected to top Everton’s bid for Real Madrid left back Sergio Reguilon in the coming days.

It’s claimed that Everton have already offered £18million for Reguilon in a move that may have surprised many.

Everton already have a star left back in Lucas Digne, and whilst they have lost Leighton Baines to retirement, few expected such a big-money signing to replace him.

Reguilon won’t be short of offers though, as it’s claimed that Chelsea are hijacking Everton’s bid and are set to improve upon it this week.

Leicester City have been demanding huge money for Ben Chilwell, meaning that Chelsea have now turned to Reguilon as their new left back target.

Reguilon, 23, starred on loan at Sevilla this past season, notching two goals and four assists before heading back to Real.

The Spaniard will still be stuck behind Marcelo and Ferland Mendy at Real, so the La Liga giants seem open to a sale.

Unless Digne is on his way out of Everton, Reguilon may actually play more first-team football at Chelsea – and the Toffees will now face a real battle to sign him with Chelsea ready to swoop in.
