Korede Adedoyin could opt to leave Everton when his contract at Goodison Park expires at the end of the season, according to AllNigeriaSoccer.

While Antony Gordon looks set for a bright future under Carlo Ancelotti on Merseyside, making his Premier League debut before the season was put on ice, another teenage forward appears to be heading in the other direction.

Adedoyin has failed to make a single appearance for Everton’s youth sides since he returned to the north west following a dismal loan spell at Hamilton Academical in the first half of the 2019/20 campaign.

And there is a growing feeling that the 19-year-old Nigerian has already played his last game in that iconic blue shirt.

Adedoyin’s contract is due to expire in July and, regardless of whether or not Everton want to keep him around for longer, the forward appears to be edging towards a move away from he joined almost a decade ago.

Perhaps Adedoyin has been inspired by Bassala Sambou, another talented young striker who left Everton in the summer of 2019 and is now featuring regularly in Holland for Fortuna Sittard.

In this post-Jadon Sancho era, more and more talented youngsters appear to be growing impatient about the lack of opportunities at senior level.
