Everton have been linked with Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel and Leicester City’s Jordan Pickford.
Everton will target Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel instead of Sunderland custodian Jordan Pickford, according to The Sun.
It has been reported that Sunderland want as much as £30 million in order to part company with Pickford.
However, Everton manager Ronald Koeman would pay £10m for the 23-year-old, who is keen on leaving the Black Cats for the Toffees, according to the report.
The Sun has claimed that the Merseyside outfit are now targeting Schmeichel, who has been in good form for Leicester this season.
Better option?
Pickford is a very good and promising young goalkeeper, but Schmeichel has more experience and is more proven.
Everton are an ambitious club and have lofty plans for the future, and at this point it would make sense for the Toffees to sign the 30-year-old Denmark international.
Schmeichel was a key figure in Leicester’s Premier League-title winning campaign of 2015-16 and has been quite consistent for the Foxes this season.
