Everton are finished spending this summer, but Carlo Ancelotti is still ‘thrilled’ with the transfer business they have done, the Liverpool Echo suggest.

Everton have spent a considerable amount of funds on strengthening their midfield ranks, with James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan all arriving in quick succession.

The Toffees have shown great ambition by completing the three deals, and Ancelotti is believed to be delighted with the backing he has received from the board.

Everton could now be restricted to loan deals for the rest of the window, with the Merseyside outfit still looking to strengthen their backline, but the business they have done so far has raised eye brows.

The addition of Rodriguez is particularly eye catching, as he could be one of the most exciting playmakers for the Premier League, if Everton can get him back to top form.

Doucoure and Allan should also add bite to Everton’s midfield, which was often desperately lacking last term.

Ancelotti’s side are now focusing on getting a loan deal over the line for Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori, the Echo claim.
