Report: Everton winning the race for Jack Wilshere

Everton are one of a number of clubs who are interested in signing Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.

According to a report in the Daily Star, Everton are leading the race to sign Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.

Wilshere’s contract at Arsenal is due to expire at the end of the season, and he is not happy with the terms currently on the table.

A whole host of clubs have been linked with Wilshere, but it is Everton who are said to have the strongest interest.

The Toffees are hugely keen to bring the England international to Goodison Park, despite his poor injury record.

And the Star claim that Everton are leading the away for Wilshere’s signature as things stand.

Wilshere could enhance the quality of Everton’s midfield options for next term, and offer them more creativity from deep areas.

The bulk of Everton’s current midfielders have received criticism for their poor performances this term, and it is an area of concern.

Wilshere has made 31 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions this season, scoring twice and claiming four assists.
