The Icelandic midfielder has been in excellent form for Swansea City this season, and has drawn the attention of Everton manager Ronald Koeman.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman is plotting a bid for Swansea City’s Icelandic star Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer, according to a report by Bleacher Report.
The report suggests that the Toffees would be willing to pay up to £25 million for the attacking midfielder, who has been in electric form for Paul Clement’s side this season.
Everton haven’t been shy to splash the cash of late, after securing signings such as Yannick Bolasie, Ashley Williams and Morgan Schneiderlin for for big sums, and may well follow a similar pattern in the summer.
The South Wales Evening Post had been reporting that Everton were keen on a move for the Icelandic midfielder in January, which might not have materialised due to Sigurdsson’s desire to help Swansea City survive relegation.

With Swansea City now looking like staying up, Everton, themselves a more enticing prospect in recent months, might find it easier to talk both the Swans and the midfielder into considering a move away from the Liberty Stadium – if the money is right of course.
Ronald Koeman has transformed the Toffees during his time at Goodison Park, bringing a brand of exciting attacking football to Everton. The system Koeman plays would suit the Icelander perfectly, and he many well be enticed to join in Everton’s battle for European football.

Sigurdsson, who has been arguably Swansea’s best player this season, has played a massive part in Paul Clement’s effort to pull the Swans out of the relegation zone in recent weeks, and the former Derby County manager will likely be keen to keep hold of him.

Needing more goals from midfield, and a creative player to play behind/off Romelu Lukaku, a move for Gylfi Sigurdsson by Everton looks like a smart bit of business.
However, with the kind of inflated fees in the Premier League these days, and taking into account the importance of the Icelander to this Swansea City squad; it could well cost Everton a lot more than they would be willing to pay to prise Gylfi Sigurdsson away from Wales.
