The midfielder is not in Ronald Koeman’s plans this season.
Everton’s Darron Gibson
According to the Mirror, Everton are open to letting Darron Gibson leave the club this summer.
The midfielder signed a new two-year deal earlier this year in a move that surprised many Evertonians given his injury record in recent seasons.
However, it transpires that the agreement was already in place before Ronald Koeman arrived and he is willing to let him leave.
Everton’s Darron Gibson comes off for Tom Davies
The Irishman has not been used in their two Premier League games so far and the arrival of Idrissa Gueye as well as the emergence of Tom Davies, who Koeman rates highly, means Gibson finds himself down the pecking order.
Unfortunately a move away is looking unlikely at this moment in time, with his wages proving a major stumbling block for potential suitors at this moment according to the Mirror.
Hull City caretaker manager Mike Phelan
Nonetheless, newly promoted Hull City are considering a move, with current boss Mike Phelan having worked with Gibson during their time together at former club Manchester United.
It is also claimed that Aston Villa had registered an interest, but a move to Villa Park is unlikely after they completed a move for midfielder Mile Jedinak.
