Premier League sides Everton, West Ham United and Sunderland have joined Aston Villa in scouting Chelsea’s Michael Hector this season, the Birmingham Mail reports.

Hector is currently on a season-long loan at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, but is due to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign.

Signed by Jose Mourinho from Reading in 2015, the 24-year-old is yet to feature for his parent club, although he is said to have ambitions of playing in England’s top flight.

That could give Everton and West Ham the upper hand in any pursuit, with Sunderland seemingly destined to join Villa in next season’s Championship.

A natural central defender, Hector can also play in midfield, using his imposing six-foot-four-inch frame to his advantage.

Everton are being tipped to add up to three new players in the Jamaican’s primary position, while Villa are continuing to monitor Christopher Samba as they look to fill their own defensive void.

Sunderland are also expected to enter the centre-half market, with Jason Denayer’s loan deal expiring and Lamine Kone linked with a move to West Ham and others.

Would Hector be a good signing for Everton, West Ham, Sunderland or Aston Villa?
