Everton are planning to raid cash-strapped Valencia for £30 million goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, according to Superdeporte.
Three months after Carlo Ancelotti publicly expressed his concern about Jordan Pickford’s increasingly error-prone displays between the sticks, the Toffees are being linked with another experienced glovesman.
Sergio Romero and Salvatore Sirigu have been mentioned as potential targets in recent weeks.
And with Cillessen now in the frame, Pickford is suddenly facing up to the prospect of a season stuck on the sidelines with the European Championships due to kick off in June.
Superdeporte reports the 56-cap Holland international has emerged on Everton’s radar with a crisis-hit Valencia side putting their entire squad up for sale.
Captain Dani Parejo has already left the Mestalla, followed by Francois Coquelin, Ferran Torres, Ezequiel Garay and Leeds United’s new record signing Rodrigo Moreno.

Cillessen didn’t exactly have a stellar season himself in 2019/20, dropping to the bench during the final few weeks of the campaign thanks to some less-than-convincing displays for a Valencia team that finished a disappointing ninth in the La Liga.
But he is a proven winner, a man who lifted three Eredivisie titles at Ajax and five trophies at Barcelona.
“Jasper is world class,” former Barca boss Ernesto Valverde said of the 31-year-old (Tellereport).
