CalcioMercato claim that Everton are interested in raiding Wolves for a second time in the space of two transfer windows after the loan signing of Conor Coady – by bringing in attacker Daniel Podence at Goodison Park.
Podence, 27, has earmarked himself as one of Wolves’ most-crucial players. But the Molineux no.10 is about to enter the last 18 months of his Wolves contract. The Midlands club could be tempted to sell if a decent offer comes in.
Bought for £17million from Olympiacos after a season in which he impressed against Arsenal and Tottenham in Europe, Podence has since clocked up 81 appearances for Wolves. Since his move in January 2020, he has scored 12 goals.
He has also laid on eight assists. A good record, but not a great one. Largely because, he has played in a Wolves side that has been largely pragmatic under Bruno Lage. He earned praise from Alan Smith last season, branded “delightful”.
The report claims that Everton could look at Wolves for a second time in a few months. Coady has been a superb signing at Everton. This time, they could move for Podence in January. Ruben Vinagre is also an old Wolves teammate.

Everton interested in Wolves attacker Podence
There is no doubt that Podence is a top player. He is of Premier League quality and if put in a side that is not as defensive as Wolves, he will score and create goals. But do Everton and Frank Lampard need a player like Podence?
The club signed Dwight McNeil in the summer, and kept Anthony Gordon. They still have Andros Townsend who is fit again, and Alex Iwobi and Demarai Gray. But Iwobi has been converted into a holding midfielder. Gordon is a 10.
So, bringing in another option on the flanks helps, with Townsend’s injuries a concern. Signing a player that can play as a 10, or on either flank, makes sense. TransferMarkt say he is represented by the same agent as James Rodriguez.
