According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey.
It’s claimed that the ‘electric’ Lamptey has admirers at Goodison Park, and a move from the Toffees could materialise this summer.
However, there are two stumbling blocks; the first being that Brighton would want around £30million for Lamptey after paying just £3million for him last year.
Lamptey only signed a new deal earlier this season, so Brighton are under absolutely no pressure to sell any time soon.
Additionally, Carlo Ancelotti likes his full backs to be fairly tall – and Lamptey, standing at 5ft 5in tall, doesn’t fit the bill.
Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey have filled in at full back this season whilst Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne had some experience at centre back.

Lamptey is a more expansive option at right back, possessing blistering pace and dangerous attacking play, meaning he is more of a wing back than a full back.
Max Aarons isn’t much taller, but seems like a more realistic option right now, with Lamptey’s height potentially a major problem.
