Everton are reportedly eyeing up a move for Stoke City midfielder Badou N’Diaye this summer.

According to a report from the Daily Mail’s live transfer blog (01/08; 13:30), Everton are weighing up a potential move for Stoke City midfielder Badou N’Diaye, who is keen to make a swift return to the Premier League this summer.

The 27-year-old only joined the Potters in January, signing from Galatasaray for £14 million, according to BBC Sport. The Senegal international did impress during the latter half of last season, but was unable to help Stoke keep themselves in the top flight.

The Mail reports that Gary Rowett is hoping to convince N’Diaye to stick around for the coming campaign to help the Potters get promoted at the first time of asking, but he is keen to go back into the top flight – and Everton are one of the teams interested in offering him that chance, while his former club want to bring him back to Turkey.

The Mail (01/08; 13:30) adds that Marco Silva is keen to strengthen his options in the middle of the park and is now keen on putting N’Diaye alongside international teammate Idrissa Gueye.

It is probably little surprise that Everton appear to be stepping up their pursuits of potential targets as the window reaches the home straight and the new Premier League season nears.

The Toffees have not had the best pre-season and have, so far, enjoyed a quiet summer with Richarlison and Lucas Digne proving to be their only signings at this stage.

Silva probably has more pressing concerns – most notably, at centre-back – but looking to add more quality in the central midfield looks to be a smart decision from the Portuguese.
