Everton are reportedly interested in the Southampton star and the Chelsea defender as Marco Silva looks to add to his squad in the final days of the window.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina and Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori find themselves on Everton’s radar as Marco Silva looks for replacements for two of last season’s key men.
Sky Sports reports that Idrissa Gueye is closing in on a £28 million move to Paris Saint-Germain, while Silva is also considering alternative options if he is unable to bring Kurt Zouma back after his hugely successful loan spell at Goodison Park last term.
According to Sky Sports, Zouma remains his number one target, but Blues teammate Tomori is also on his wishlist after an impressive loan spell at Derby County.
Meanwhile, the report notes that the Toffees have joined the likes of Wolves and Manchester United in the running to sign Lemina, who is available after falling out of favour under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Lemina has shown glimpses of his quality during his time with the Saints. But he has been missing throughout pre-season, and it would be no surprise if he had moved on by the time the transfer window closes.
He will have big shoes to fill if he arrives on Merseyside however, with Gueye proving to be an inspired signing for the Toffees and set to net them a substantial profit.
If Silva can get the best out of Lemina, he could arguably prove to be an outstanding addition. But it may be a concerning sign for the Everton supporters that Hasenhuttl – who has already transformed a number of Southampton stars – is ready to let him go.
Tomori meanwhile, appears to have enormous potential, and Silva will be hoping that Frank Lampard is reluctantly willing to let him go. There are several options ahead of him in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, including Zouma, so perhaps there may be scope for an agreement to be reached in the final days of the window.
