Everton are reportedly keen on Porto defender Eder Militao.
According to UOL Esporte in Brazil, Everton have been scouting Porto defender Eder Militao – just weeks after he made his move to Portugal in the first place.
The Toffees were busy over the summer as they looked to strengthen their squad, and two Brazilian talents arrived in Bernard and Richarlison.
Richarlison has made a huge impact whilst Bernard looks set to feature under Marco Silva soon, and it seems that director of football Marcel Brands isn’t done targeting Brazilian starlets yet.
UOL Esporte report that Everton scouted Porto’s 2-0 win over Vitoria Setubal on Saturday, as well as their Champions League game against Schalke last week, with one player believed to be their target.
Porto defender Eder Militao is thought to be of interest to Everton, despite only signing for Porto from Sao Paulo at the beginning of August having impressed back in Brazil.
It’s now claimed that Porto would be looking for around €20million (£17.85million), despite paying just €4million (£3.57million) for him a matter of weeks ago thanks to his contract winding down with Sao Paulo.
Militao, 20, can play at centre back or right back, and has already earned his first cap for Brazil having been touted as a future star for his country at the back, once the likes of Thiago Silva and Dani Alves have moved on.
Quick, strong and good in the air, Militao may be a centre back option for Everton if they don’t fancy bidding for loanee Kurt Zouma on a permanent basis, or even a future heir to Seamus Coleman down the line.
