According to the Guardian, Everton have expressed interested in hiring Lucian Favre as they continue to search for Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.
What’s the story?
Well, the 63-year-old held talks with Crystal Palace over the weekend, after being sounded out by the Eagles.
Steve Parish is still seeking to replace Roy Hodgson, and positive talks were held with the Swiss coach.
According to the Guardian, sources close to Favre claim he was impressed by Crystal Palace’s plans, and is keen to manage in the Premier League.
However, the Toffees could throw a spanner in the works for Crystal Palace, if they were to firm up their interest with an approach.
Lucian Favre close to accepting Crystal Palace’s offer

If Everton really do want Favre, Bill Kenwright and Farhad Moshiri will have to move pretty quickly.
Why? Well, the Daily Mail believe that the former Borussia Dortmund boss is close to accepting an offer from Crystal Palace.
Favre – who has won 389 games as a manager – thought about moving to Selhurst Park over the weekend following talks with the club.
Now, he seems ready to accept Crystal Palace’s offer.

If the Eagles hire Favre, it would be a brilliant appointment.
He has an excellent track record in developing youngsters, such as Marco Reus, while also winning five trophies throughout his career.
If Parish pulls this off, he deserves huge credit.
