According to Bild, Everton are interested in signing Koln striker Jhon Cordoba with the player likely to leave the club after rejecting a new contract offer.

Cordoba’s current deal with Koln expires in the summer of 2021.

The Bundesliga club now have a decision to make, either attempt to cash in this summer or risk losing him on a free transfer the following year.

According to a report by the Express last month, his situation has alerted Wolverhampton Wanderers with the player said to be keen on a move to England,

Now, Bild claim fellow Premier League side Everton are interested.

The Toffees have significantly strengthened their squad over the past two weeks. Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez have all moved to Goodison Park.

But Carlo Ancelotti’s side are still short on fire-power upfront. Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin need extra competition while a different threat would be welcome.

Cordoba could be that type of player, with the 6ft 2inch powerhouse a real handful.

The 27-year-old hit 14 goals and three assists for Koln last season, adding to the 21 strikes he netted during the club’s promotion campaign in the 2018-19 season.

He has all the attributes to succeed in the Premier League, and Bild add that Koln will be happy to sell him for just £14 million – a potential bargain fee.
