According to The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 69, July 12, 2020), Everton and Manchester United are interested in signing Tyrone Mings from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

The report has suggested that the 27-year-old central defender is valued at £30 million by Villa, who are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment and could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Stats

Mings joined Villa on a permanent contract from Bournemouth in the summer of 2019 after a loan spell at Villa Park for an initial transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £20 million.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old central defender has scored two goals and provided one assist in 30 Premier League matches for the Villans this season.

Leaving Aston Villa

Mings is a very good central defender, and if Villa go down to the Championship at the end of the season, then it is hard to see him stay at the club.

Everton could do with a good centre-back, and Mings would be a decent signing, although perhaps the Toffees would like to get him for less than the reported asking price of £30 million.
