According to Goal Spain, Everton are interested in signing Club América defender Jorge Sánchez after his heroics at the Olympic Games.
What’s the story?
Well, Goal Spain believe the Toffees are weighing up a bid for the 23-year-old.
At the moment, Everton have only watched Sánchez, and have not made contact with his representatives, or with Club América.
However, that could soon change.
Goal Spain state that Rafa Benitez is searching for a right-back to compete with Seamus Coleman, and eventually replace the Irishman.
Sánchez – who has won three trophies throughout his career – has made four appearances for Mexico at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The Torreón-born defender performed superbly, and helped Mexico reach the semi-finals where they were knocked out on penalties by Brazil.
Priority position for Rafa Benitez

Make no mistake about it, Coleman is an Everton legend and is still a very capable performer at 32 years of age.
However, it should be a priority for Benitez to find a new right-back.
Coleman is injury prone, and Everton have to find someone who can begin to phase the experienced right-back out of the first-team picture.

Should the Toffees fail to do so, it will be another season of shoving square pegs into round holes, with Mason Holgate or Ben Godfrey presumably filling in.
It is also important to find someone who can help the first-team immediately, but also learn from Coleman while he’s still at the club.
If Benitez only makes one new signing, it must be a right-back.
