Everton still are trying to work on a deal for Sam Allardyce or Marco Silva.

Everton are struggling to get a deal over the line for Allardyce, and Silva has suggested that he won’t leave Watford at this moment in time.
It means that the Toffees are struggling to find a replacement for Ronald Koeman, and they have used Simeone in the hope that it will panic Allardyce or Silva.

Everton were ambitiously linked with the Atletico Madrid boss earlier this week, and the reports immediately appeared highly unlikely.
And The Sun now suggest that Everton were hoping that by suggesting they were looking at other targets, Allardyce or Silva may have panicked.

Everton’s plan does not seem to have worked though, as neither of the two bosses have budged on their stances.
Allardyce still wants a long-term contract if he is to join Everton, but the Merseyside club only want to appoint him until the end of the season.
David Unsworth could now get the job on a permanent basis, with the Toffees’ current caretaker set to meet the board tomorrow.
