Everton are set to miss out on VfL Wolfsburg talent Aster Vranckx with AC Milan agreeing a loan deal to sign the 19-year-old Belgian midfielder.

According to Sky Italia, the reigning Serie A champions have agreed a deal to sign the teenage talent on loan for the season with a €12m (£10m) obligation to make the transfer permanent next summer, with Milan beating the likes of Everton to Vranckx, with Frank Lampard’s side reportedly in the race for the Bundesliga prospect.

Labelled as a ‘sensation’ by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan have moved quickly in their bid to sign Vranckx from Wolfsburg, with the midfielder only joining the German club from Belgium last year, where the youngster established himself as a regular in both the Bundesliga and in the UEFA Champions League for the German outlet.

With Milan’s transfer policy focussing on signing younger players with the potential to grow at the club, landing Vranckx is a major coup for Stefan Pioli’s side, much to the dismay of Everton, who could have done with a player like the 19-year-old Belgian youth international.

Dynamic and versatile enough to play numerous roles in midfield, Vranckx would have been perfect in Lampard’s system alongside the likes of Alex Iwobi and summer signing Amadou Onana, yet with Milan working fast to get a deal done for the Wolfsburg star, the Toffees seemingly never stood a chance with the teenager.

Indeed, whilst there is time left for Everton to conclude some transfers, missing out on Vranckx will sting for Lampard, yet for Milan, the Rossoneri can celebrate knowing they’ve finally landed that young midfielder they’ve been searching for all summer, with the Wolfsburg talent arguably one of the best in his age group in Europe.

Vranckx might only be 19-years-old, but Milan have landed one serious talent in the teenage midfielder, with Everton likely to regret not going hard enough to sign the Belgian youth star despite already recruiting his fellow countryman in Onana this summer.

After all, Vranckx has the potential to flourish in Italy with Milan, and with Pioli cracking the formula for signing young players and integrating them into his system, the Serie A champions could be onto another winner in the midfielder, who could become a key player for the Rossoneri this season.
