Everton look set to miss out on Denzel Dumfries with agent Mino Raiola agreeing a deal with Inter Milan for the Dutchman.

According to CalcioMercato, the Italian footballing figure has reached an ‘agreement’ with the UEFA Champions League side in recent days.

However, Inter are yet to submit an offer to PSV for the right-back. As per the report, the Eredivisie side are demanding €15m (£12m) for the Euro 2020 star.

Everton remain interested in the defender, but the Toffees will have to act fast if they are to hijack a deal for Dumfries.

Rafa Benitez’s side have been eager on Dumfries to Everton for the majority of the window.

However, the sale of Achraf Hakimi to PSG has accelerated Inter’s process in trying to sign a right-back.

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is also a target for the Milanese side. But with the Gunners unwilling to budge on their £20m price tag for the defender, Everton target Dumfries has emerged as a more realistic option for the Serie A champions.

For Everton, though, this update on Dumfries will be a blow to Benitez’s transfer plans.

The Merseyside club are eager to sign a right-back this window, and the PSV star had been the Premier League side’s top target for the position.

However, a lack of activity in the Dumfries move has seen Inter take the lead over Everton, with the Italian side now reaching an agreement with the defender.

But with three weeks of the window left to go, Everton have time to identify a new transfer target for the position.
