Everton will hand Tom Davies a new deal, according to The Liverpool Echo.
It has been reported that the Premier League outfit will offer the 17-year-old midfielder a new long-term contract.
“The West Derby midfielder is certain to be a permanent fixture in the Blues first-team next term under Roberto Martinez’s replacement and will be offered a new contract on the back of that,” states the report in The Liverpool Echo.
Davies has been on the books of Everton since 2008 and has a contract that runs out at the end of next season.
The teenager has made good progress and played twice in the Premier League this past season.
The England Under-17 international had a pass accuracy of 78%, and won two dribbles and one tackle.
It seems that the Merseyside outfit rate the youngster highly and consider him part of their long-term plans.
Davies is still very young and is developing as a footballer, and it will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets next season.
It is unlikely that the teenage midfielder will start the 2016-17 campaign as part of the starting lineup, but he could gradually make himself a regular as the season progresses.
