Everton have reportedly struck a deal to sign Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.
According to The Telegraph, Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson will undergo a medical with Everton on Wednesday after the two clubs finally agreed a deal worth £45million.
Sigurdsson, 27, has been Swansea’s star man since re-signing from Tottenham Hotspur back in the summer of 2014, and he was the driving force in the Swans’ survival from relegation, notching nine goals and 13 assists in the Premier League last term.

As one of English football’s top playmakers, the former Reading and Hoffenheim ace has attracted major interest, with Everton desperately attempting to secure his signature in recent weeks having failed with a number of bids.
Sigurdsson was even left out of Saturday’s Premier League opener against Southampton as Swansea felt that he wasn’t in the right frame of mind to play, with the saga surrounding his future leaving Swans boss Paul Clement in limbo.
Now though, The Telegraph report that Sigurdsson is all set for a move to Goodison Park, and will undergo a medical with Everton on Wednesday after the two clubs finally shook hands on a £45million fee.
Everton have already splashed the cash this summer by signing Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney, but the hope is that Sigurdsson can provide additional creativity going forward for Ronald Koeman’s side.

With the deal expected to be done in the next 48 hours, Sigurdsson would be available for Everton’s trip to face Manchester City on Monday, though whether Koeman would want to throw him straight in remains to be seen.
Sigurdsson will personally hope that his move brings him more success than when he joined Tottenham, as he was back with Swansea inside two years – and Koeman may well see him as one of the final pieces of his Everton jigsaw this summer.
