According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Everton have registered an interest in signing Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi – but he has eyes set on a move to Roma.

The Toffees have already added two new signings this summer, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen joining the club from Sunderland and Ajax respectively.

Now, manager Ronald Koeman will be turning his attention to the final third, and whilst Malaga forward Sandro Ramirez is set for a move to Goodison Park, other additions will also be needed.

Italian newspaper Il Messaggero now claim that Everton are interested in signing Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi, but he’s claimed to be focused on joining Roma instead.

Berardi, 22, has been touted as one of the stars of the future in Italian football for some time now, and he racked up ten goals and nine assists in all competitions for Sassuolo las season.

Primarily a right-sided winger who love to cut inside on his left foot, Berardi possesses great skill and technique rather than blistering pace, and he has attracted interest from a host of clubs.

It’s now claimed that Everton are particularly keen on Berardi, but the forward has his eyes on a move to Roma, where he would reunite with his former Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco.

However, Roma are allegedly only willing to offer €25million (£22million), some way short of Sassuolo’s €40million (£35million) asking price, which could at least give Everton some encouragement.
