Everton look set to miss out on Juventus striker Moise Kean.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus are set to tie down striker Moise Kean to a new contract, ruling out a move to Everton in the process.
Juve raided Turin rivals Torino for Kean at the age of just 10, and he’s been coming up through the ranks with Juventus ever since.
Having made his professional debut aged just 16, Kean has been touted for stardom, and he started showing why having hit seven goals in 17 games last season.
The 19-year-old has just one year left on his contract as things stand, but it’s believed that Kean is set to pen a new deal after being offered a contract worth £35,000-a-week by Juve.
It’s noted that Everton will offer €30million (£26.75million) to sign Kean, but his new deal will rule out any move to Goodison Park this summer.
In truth, Everton signing Kean was always unlikely. The teenager is one of the world’s top young talents, and leaving Juventus for Everton after such a superb season would have been a shock.
Everton will have been hoping to take advantage of Kean’s bit-part role at Juventus, as he’s unlikely to be the leading striker until Cristiano Ronaldo moves on.
Sadly for Marcel Brands, no deal will be done for Kean, and he’s now left to go back into the market for another striker as he looks to bolster Marco Silva’s attacking options.
