Brighton and Hove Albion failed to lure Karl Toko Ekambi to the Premier League from Ligue 1 – Everton will now make their move for the Angers hotshot.

For the third season in a row, Angers’ top marksman could be on his way to England.
Aston Villa’s record-signing Jonathan Kodjia (below) swapped Angers for Bristol City after netting 15 goals in Ligue 2 during the 2014/15 season. And Famara Diedhiou made an identical move to Ashton Gate one year later.
Now, Karl Toko Ekambi is being tipped to depart with no shortage of interest in his services. France Football claims that Everton are fans of the Cameroon international, who has scored nine times in 16 league starts for a side who are sitting second from bottom in the Ligue 1 table.

But The Toffees will be hoping to have more luck that Brighton. Toko Ekambi was one of a number of strikers who slipped through The Seagulls’ net in the summer, the report stating that he turned down a move to The Amex despite Brighton promising to quadruple the wages he was earning at Angers.
With Stephane Moulin’s side in real danger of relegation this season, however, time will tell whether Toko Ekambi will seek to jump from a seemingly sinking ship halfway through the campaign.

A prolific centre-forward has been missing from Everton’s ranks ever since Romelu Lukaku joined Manchester United back in July but it appears that Sam Allardyce is closing in on one target before the January transfer window has even opened.
The Sun claims that Everton are on the verge of signing Cenk Tosun from Besiktas for a fee rising to £25 million.
But if Toko Ekambi is to follow the Turk to Merseyside, Everton may have to offer a rather attractive paypacket.
