According to a report in the Daily Mail, Everton target Eray Comert would be keen on a move to the Premier League.

Everton have scouted Comert, who currently plays for Basle, over the past season.

The centre-back has caught the eye of the Toffees, and is now a potential target for them this summer.

It has been suggested that Comert is eager to move away from Switzerland and the prospect of playing in England would appeal to him.

However, Basle have no interest in selling the 21-year-old at this stage, as he is so important to them.

Basle want to keep Comert at least until the end of the July, as they want him to help them in the Champions League qualifiers.

If the Swiss side make it into Europe’s top competition then they will be under no pressure to sell their prized prospect, and could keep him around.

It means that Everton could face a waiting game if they do make a move for Comert.

The Toffees would be competing against Arsenal for the defender, with the Gunners’ interest currently more advanced than Everton’s.

Comert would fit in with the type of addition that Everton have tried to make in recent times, as he is still very young and would have the potential to develop into an excellent player if he was to move to Goodison Park.
