Everton want Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, but their chances of making a move will have surely been dealt a massive blow.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (print edition; 19th November 2017; page 65), Diego Simeone is not willing to come to the Premier League if it means that he will have to take a pay cut on the eye-watering contract that he has with Atletico Madrid – seemingly dealing a blow to Everton.

Sky Sports added that a move was unlikely right now with Simeone unlikely to break his contract mid-season, and it appears that the chances of a move at the end of the season, or any other stage in the future, may similarly be slim.

With Sky Sports’ recent report suggesting that Moshiri is prepared to match some of the biggest spenders in the top flight, it may not be a surprise if he would seriously consider offering terms that Simeone may find appealing.
It remains to be seen however, whether Simeone’s reported demands put the Everton owner off or not, and of course, Simeone would surely want a number of other assurances before he considered taking the job even if the Toffees decide at some stage to put some tempting terms in front of him.
