According to The Daily Mail, Everton are among a number of clubs interested in signing Bertrand Traore from Lyon in the summer transfer window.

The report has also claimed that French club Lyon want around £40 million as transfer fees for the 23-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder.

Good signing for Everton?

Traore has played in England before when he was at Chelsea, but the Burkina Faso international failed to make a massive impact at Stamford Bridge.

The youngster joined Lyon from Chelsea in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £8.8 million.

The 23-year-old has done well during his time in France, and the attacker will not be a bad signing for Everton, although the reported transfer fee of £40m does sound a lot.

According to WhoScored, Traore has made 24 starts and nine substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Lyon this season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in the process.

During the 2017-18 campaign, the 23-year-old made 27 starts and four substitute appearances in the league for Lyon, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
