Barnsley are reportedly hoping to land Joe Williams from Everton on a permanent basis.

According to Sky Sports (17:30), Everton have no intention of selling midfielder Joe Williams this month after receiving a bid from Barnsley.
Williams, 21, has come up through the ranks with Everton having joined at the age of seven, featuring for the club across various youth teams so far.
This season, the midfielder was sent out on loan to continue his development, joining Barnsley for the duration of the campaign – and he has played a key role under Paul Heckingbottom.
Williams has missed just one league game this season, becoming a fixture of the Barnsley side – and the Tykes unsurprisingly want to try and keep him on a permanent basis.
The Liverpool Echo reported on Tuesday that Barnsley have offered £1million to sign Williams permanently, but Sky Sports (17:30) claim that Everton have no intention of selling Williams this month.
Everton will allow Williams to see out the season with Barnsley, but they won’t be accepting any bids to let him leave the club permanently any time soon.
The Toffees have brought through midfielders Tom Davies and Beni Baningime into the first team in recent times, and may well see Williams as being able to make the step up too.
For just £1million, Everton are right to reject Barnsley’s approach, but they may well need to promise Williams a role around the first-team next season to keep him happy at Goodison Park.
