Frank Lampard’s Everton are still interested in signing Michy Batshuayi from Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the final days of the summer transfer window, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

90min reported on August 4 that Everton are interested in bringing the Belgium international striker to Goodison Park.

The report added that Wolverhampton Wanderers were in advanced talks with Chelsea to sign Batshuayi on loan.

However, the striker is still on the books of Chelsea.

And, according to Phillips, Everton remain keen on signing the Belgian, who earns £90,000 per week as salary at the moment (Spotrac).

Everton still want Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi

The well-known and well-respected journalist told GiveMeSport: “I think that those are going to be some late moves.

“Batshuayi is obviously still wanted by Everton. But at the moment, they’ve got other targets, they’ve got other priorities there.

“So, he has got other teams interested, but it is quite quiet there at the moment in his camp, and nothing is close.”

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Everton make a good offer to Chelsea, then they should be able to secure the services of Michy Batshuayi in the final days of the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old has failed to make a huge impact at Chelsea and spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Besiktas.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel does not seem to think that Batshuayi could make his team better, and we predict that a good offer from Everton could see the London club cash in on him now.
