Everton are readying an approach for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons but any deal is likely to see the defender return to Carrow Road on loan until the summer, as reported by TEAMtalk.
With Daniel Farke’s Canaries flying high at the top of the Championship table and closing in on an immediate return to the Premier League, their stance is understandable.
Aarons, the turbo-charged trigger for so many Norwich attacks, is one of the main weapons in Farke’s armoury and it would be almost impossible to find a replacement of equal quality during the winter window.
For the table-topping Anglians, keeping the London-born 21-year-old is key to their promotion prospects.
And TEAMtalk believe that, even if Everton make an offer they cannot refuse, Norwich will demand that Aarons stays at Carrow Road on loan until 2020/21 comes to an end.

Everton are expected to make an approach at some point this month, with Aarons lined up as a long-term successor for the evergreen but ageing Seamus Coleman.
The Toffees are long-term admirers and showed an interest last year too.
Norwich will demand a fee of around £30 million (Mail) – a fee that would see Aarons replace Jarrod Bowen as the most expensive Championship export of all time.
A move to Everton would also see Aarons reunite with his former Carrow Road captain Ben Godfrey.
