Everton midfielder Tom Davies is reportedly about to sign a new contract at Goodison Park.
Tom Davies is about to hand Everton a major boost, with a report from the Daily Mail suggesting that he is about to sign a new contract at Goodison Park.
Davies has endured a mixed campaign. He has captained the Toffees on a number of occasions, but he has only made 10 Premier League starts, with a further six appearances from the bench.
The Mail reports that Celtic were interested in signing Davies on loan during the January transfer window. But Marco Silva decided to keep him on Merseyside, and it now appears that the club are ready to make a further statement about his future.
According to the Mail, the 20-year-old is set to sign a contract that will run until 2023 to provide Everton with a further boost after a positive end to the campaign for Silva’s men.
Everton have won four of their last six games, beating Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United along the way. In those three games, they scored seven goals and kept clean sheets on every occasion.
It may appear to be an underwhelming finish to the season if they remain in ninth when the campaign concludes. But if their current form continues, they will feel as though they have a lot of momentum heading into next year – and that will only be added to when Davies puts pen to paper on his fresh deal.
