Report: Everton set to make another move for Wilmar Barrios, and he’s willing to move

Everton boss Marco Silva has already added a number of South American players to his squad at Goodison Park this season.

According to AS Argentina, Everton are ready to make a move for Wilmar Barrios this week, and he could be willing to make the switch to Goodison Park now.

Everton have been tracking Barrios for some time, and were said to have made contact with Boca Juniors last year.

When Everton first made an approach Barrios wanted to stick with Boca, as they were set to play in the Copa Libertadores final, but now that game has passed, he could be more open to moving on.

Indeed, Boca have reportedly already lined up a replacement for Barrios in the former of Jorman Campuzano, in wake of Everton’s interest.

The Toffees could land Barrios for relatively cheap, as he has a release clause in his contract.

If the Colombian international was brought to Everton he could add steel to Marco Silva’s midfield, and he would be another to add to the growing collection of South Americans at the club.

Everton already have Bernard, Richarlison and Yerry Mina, with the Merseyside outfit clearly targeting the South American market since Marcel Brands’ arrival.
