According to The Times, Everton have had no contact from Barcelona about a move for defender Michael Keane.
Chatter around social media in midweek suggested that new Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman wanted to lure Keane to the Camp Nou this summer.
Koeman oversaw Keane’s move to Everton in 2017, but the idea of him turning out for the Blaugrana had many creasing in laughter.
It’s now stated that there has been no contact from Barca about such a move, but Everton are still looking to keep him anyway.
Everton will allegedly open talks over a new deal with Keane this week, in the hope of tying him down to a new contract.
Keane still has two years left on his Everton contract, but the Toffees are keen to keep him at Goodison Park for even longer.

The 27-year-old hasn’t quite lived up to the hype from his Burnley days, and he looks unlikely to play at EURO 2021 with England next summer.
If Carlo Ancelotti gets his way, Everton may have a new centre back to partner Mason Holgate next season, so Keane may not even be guaranteed a starting spot – but Everton are looking to keep him around the squad for years to come, with a bizarre Barcelona move seemingly not on the cards.
