Dortmund’s teen sensation Emre Mor could make a surprise move to Everton this summer.

Everton spending £28 million on Crystal Palace maverick Yannick Bolasie (BBC) always seemed a risk, and so far, it’s fair to say he hasn’t exactly repaid that hefty transfer fee.

Though his performances cannot be blamed for his inability to make an impact at Goodison Park. Instead, it’s a long-term injury which has prevented this true street footballer from showing off the skills that made him a firm favourite at Selhurst Park.

Bolasie has been out of action since last December, when he suffered a serious knee injury, and told Sky Sports that he hopes to return before the end of the year. And while that will be seen as positive news, he had been expected to be on the sidelines until deep into 2018, can Everton really afford to wait around for his return?

This appears to be the internal dilemma Ronald Koeman is going through right now. Because Sporx reports that Bolasie’s extended spell on the sidelines is the reason behind Everton’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund starlet Emre Mor.

Even Mor creativity

The 19-year-old, who joined Dortmund from Nordsjaelland last summer, is one of Europe’s most highly-rated youngsters, so Die Schwarzgelben’s desire to sell him this summer has come as a surprise.

And Everton received a major boost on Wednesday when sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed that Mor’s potential move to Inter Milan had collapsed, as reported by ESPN.

Mor is certainly a different player than Bolasie, more about subtlety and flowing dribbling rather than the former Palace flyers lung-busting sprints and power-packed crosses.

Yet, with Gylfi Sigurdsson completing his signing from Swansea City, there will be plenty of creativity in Everton’s attack should Mor arrive too.
